I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance, by switching to GEICO!

For only 6 months…

BEFORE:  $1200.00

AFTER:    $476.00 (and better coverage)

Can you believe that difference????

So easy, a Caveman can do it!

(Confession:  Ok, so hubby did all the work, and my mom was the one who had us check it out…which we are thankful for…so I personally didn’t do anything, except blog about it! – But it wouldn’t be as cute of a post if I said that THEY did it!)

Too much to do, no time to blog.

After my exciting day of laundry, laundry and yet more laundry, I have been thinking of a boycott.   I’ve never really boycotted anything, but this one is worth seriously considering.

Inside-out Laundry!
If it’s inside out, it doesn’t get washed!

I’m tired of putting up with it…you know, Inside-out-shorts!  Inside-out shirts!  Inside-out socks!  Socks especially do not come clean if they are not properly turned right-side-out, they just don’t.  I can not tell you how much time I spent today turning them (and everything else) right-side-out!

I ask you, am I the only one dealing with this problem?   How hard is it to just turn them right-side-out???  I’m thinking this must be VERY HARD, because no one but me, can accomplish this feat.

Comments anyone?

Face it with a grin… :)  You (should) know the rest!

Another beautiful day, believe it or not, it was perfectly warm.   We opened all the windows in the house and aired it out, a few are still open (I just love the fresh air!).

Today, tons more chores got done, which will be so nice for me this week, to not have to worry about them.   (I’ll just have the laundry to finish, and though I hate the laundry, I’m happy there is not much more that needs done.)

I still have my joy, and I’m still very blessed by my family and friends.  I think it’s the sunshine!  I really needed something other than cold, overcast, windy and depressing days.   And thankfully, I got it, all weekend!!!

So I had a JOY FILLED day!

…a few extra minutes (before the dishwasher repair man came to take some Excedrin, drink some coffee, and lay back down) to get rid of my slight headache.

…a working dishwasher (after the dry eye, dishwasher guy fixed it)

…SUNSHINE, what a beautiful day!

…a patient family who went to a Yard Sale (the ONLY yard sale I wanted to go to) with me

…a sweet Hubby who took me to a local home and garden store, and bought me (among a few other yard things) two Rosemary plants and a Patio Tomato plant

…a hard working Hubby who mowed, weed whacked, fertilized and watered our lawn today (so it could be beautiful)

…squisy damp pant legs from ME pulling weeds outta the landscaping WHILE the sprinklers were running!

…loving Sissy (BabyAm) took her brothers (the Boston Boys) for a much needed energy draining walk

…some quiet & restful (not that I did anything today) time alone while Hubby and BabyAm went ALONE to Costco to pick up a few things, while they text messaged me pictures of EXTRAS’ they thought they might need…(Note to self:  Don’t send them ALONE again)

…my helpful daughter, BabyAm, (working off a little “debt”) conscientiously vacuuming the entire house

…except the stairs and the furniture, because somehow my considerate Hubby, graciously, took that job on, himself

I’m not done, if you can believe it?

…my precious and thoughtful Hubby and BabyAm decided I didn’t need to cook dinner, so they bought a Caesar Salad and then Hubby bbq’d Rack of Lamb for us! YUM!  (…and I still have a few for lunch tomorrow!)

…and right now, the ultimate excitement of watching Failure to Launch as a family, knowing that the chores (most of them) are done, the dishes will get clean and we can just continue to HANG OUT TOGETHER.  (Note to all of you:  If you’ve not seen Failure to Launch, YOU MUST!  It’s one to OWN!  And I’m not mentioning Matthew McConaughey, or the Nekkid Room w/Terry Bradshaws tush)

Thank you Lord for all the joy and blessings you give me daily, especially the ones I see, when I finally open my eyes to recognize them.  I’m working on noticing the rest, I promise.   Amen.

Just another one of those days that you could just bottle up and toss in a fire!  :)  Glad it’s OVER!   Tomorrow is a new day, and it’s supposed to be beautiful this weekend.

The dishwasher repair-guy is coming in the morning (because for some reason they don’t schedule guys to come out at midnight when you realize that it’s broken!) which means we all get the joy of NOT sleeping in!   Woohooo!  Party!!!  Horns!  Happy Dance!   NOT!  :)  I’m just glad he’s coming, because hand washing the dishes by hand sure does suck.   Almost as bad as not having TV (for the ONE hour you want it).

I plan to only blog joy and good things tomorrow, after all it is going to be a great day!

Mrs. Potts – This cartoon is JUST for YOU!

What is Bite Back?  Let me tell you.

Directly from BooMama’s Post:

This Friday (tomorrow), April 25, is World Malaria Day. And through the Bite Back campaign, people can give a one-time donation of $10 and provide a mosquito net for a child – or a family, if they’re all sleeping in the same place – who otherwise would have no protection from this completely preventable disease. That $10 will also provide education and treatment for people who are already sick with malaria.

Remember, this is a one-time donation, not a long-term commitment.

So here’s how you can help.

Click here to donate $10 that will provide a mosquito net for a child (you can donate more than that if you feel led). Each net lasts three years, so for $3.33 a year – less than a penny a day – you can save a child’s life.

And if you just can’t spare $10 right now but still want to help, then link to this post from your blog. Help to get the word out and encourage your readers to give.

BooMama has provided the banner code for us (you too) HERE.   She has challenged her readers (which I am one of) to donate 50 nets, in 50 hours.   She has doubled that number as of this post, and she still has until 9pm central time Friday night to go.  Let’s help her TRIPLE that number!

I encourage you to read through her post, and go to the Bite Back site and donate the $10.  What a wonderful – life saving gift!

And, if you’re one of my readers and you donate, (besides letting BooMama know) will you also leave me a comment here on this post, letting me know that “YOUR IN” as well?  Thanks!

What in the WORLD?????

OMG – This is NOT what I expected…(or from what I can tell…anyone else expected).  These bottom two, Syesha and Carly should have both been safe!

This just goes to show that EVERYONE MUST VOTE!

I am soooo glad that Chocolate Cake just came out of the oven!

If Carly goes home, the cake will NOT get frosting.  I’ll just be eating it by the spoonful.

What did people do before television?   I don’t mean normal people, I mean people like me.   Those who have no hobbies, those who don’t have kids at home (during the day), those who hate cleaning or exercising and those that don’t know how to read (just kidding)?  I mean who don’t LIKE to read?

The DirecTV installer was here all day today, and I do mean, all day.   He arrived shortly after 8am, and didn’t leave until 3:00, only to return again about a half an hour later.   It was a long day.  I dealt with whiny puppies who wanted to play, and wanted to follow him around making sure he didn’t hurt us, their house, or steal anything I’m assuming…(who knows what they were thinking).   Those puppies would have been much happier had they been able to go outside today.  IF.WE.HAD.A.FENCE.   No sarcasm there!  Additionally, you can only sit and listen to the DirecTV Demo Dude’s voice for so long (at full blast–because your installer is old) before you want to throw every remote in the house at the TV on the wall.   I am not kidding.  It was that obnoxious and loud.

Add that stuff to the fact that it was like pulling teeth to get the guy to actually install our stuff today, because he didn’t have all the equipment we ordered (and paid for mind you), so the order was wrong, and according to him, if the order is wrong…he can’t even start.   OH.MY.WORD!   So after several calls to who ever the hell is in charge, by the “trying not to be” extremly frustrated Hubby…the guy got to work.   You would think he had to build our house from scratch.

Would you believe me if I told you that after he left, came back and left again that our living room receiver decided to give us fits?   I just feel like I’ve been traped in a DirecTV nightmare.   But the alternative, having CABLE is pure torture from the DEVIL, so I should be happy I’m getting what I want, finally.   Maybe I’ll feel better about it tomorrow—When I can watch the ONE hour of TV that I want to watch tomorrow.   Can you say selfish?   Cranky?   Over the top?

I think I’m allowed, aren’t I?  To have “a day” that Only Chocolate Cake Can Fix?   BabyAm is making one for me (ok for all of us) as I type…and then I will proceed to eat all the leftover frosting until I get sick and puke.   (No, not really but it sounded good.)

American Idol Results are on now…I guess I’d better stop while I’m ahead.

Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber Night

Syesha Mercado:  One Rock and Roll Too Many

Great Performance, and like I said, I’m not a fan, so that is a serious compliment coming from me.   I loved the extra personality.  And I really liked her hair, classy and sassy!   I finally enjoyed listening to her!   Yeah!  (Simon thinking it was sexy, cracks me up!)

Jason Castro: Memory

(dang, get that boy some PR help)  Uh oh…don’t like him with the low notes tonight.  For not knowing the song (age), I kind of feel that he felt it, but I don’t think he really “performed” it very well.   I don’t think it was his element at all.  I think he could have chosen something different that fit him better. I can only see Barbara singing that song, and believing it.  —Bottom 3—

Brooke White:  You Must Love Me

Rough start…great composure with her re-start.  I do think this was a good choice for her.  I believed it.   I think she’s safe, regardless of the judges.  Hubby said she’s genuine.   What a perfect word for her.

—Bottom 3—

David Archuleta: Think of Me

I like him much better tonight.   He has a beautiful voice, so it was nice.   Hubby mentioned that he needs to move around on the stage.   He could have gone down and sung that to someone…I don’t know that he was the best so far, but he was good.

Carly Smithson: Jesus Christ Superstar

I just love Carly so I’m biased.  I really enjoyed watching her.   I think she is safe.   With all these great songs, I think she made a great choice for her personality and voice.   And I love that she had fun!   Her hubby cracks me up!  J  (LOVED THE SHIRT)….but seriously…I think she either needs a more supportive bra…or she needs a bra, haven’t figured that part out.  I have never liked “bounce”.  Sorry TMI.  (Hubby thinks she’s the other in the —Bottom 3—but not based on performance, based on popularity)

David Cook: Music of the Night

Well I think if I was single, I’d be in love.  Need I say more?  Of course, he’s my favorite, and he’s safe.  I believe that he’s our 2008 American Idol.  I just do.   I wonder if I could set him up with BabyAm…guess it’s time to do some research.

Who should go home?  Jason Castro

Who will go home?  Probably Brooke (even though I said I think she’s safe…cuz I’m always wrong!)

Favorite of the night?   You need to ask????
